Nov 16, 2018 | blackmail scam | Spoofed email made to look like it was sent from own email. Got scared when it showed a real (albeit old) password. It's caused by a website having a breach and getting account details stolen. Change your passwords and ignore the email. Also, don't fall for the websites saying it's a virus and linking to you to "anti-virus" software. It's a common scam that will install spyware onto your device. |
Nov 16, 2018 | ransomware | Same as others. However, I can claim to be fairly sure it originates from exhedra.com, because I use specific email addresses/passwords for every company/account. But that's probably a long time ago. Also seems to be linked to freelancer.com, which used to sent spam/mail to the same mail address. So wouldn't wonder if this ring a bell to (some) other victims. |
