Their team claims to have "found a vulnerability within [our] site that [they] were able to exploit." They also claim they "were able to get [our] database credentials and extract [our] entire database and move the information to an offshore server." There's much more text in the email, but suffice it to say "[they] are willing to refrain from destroying [our] site's reputation for a small fee. The current fee is $2500 in bitcoins (BTC)." The fee is to be sent to 3LKf6NWhJA8L5cmD5p9u6WksjW9SC2jauu. - end quote - There is no database on our website, so this threat is nonsense. Also, the text goes on for longer than I pasted in here. |
